Anesthesiologist (Locum Tenens)

Overview

CVP is seeking Board Certified/Board Eligible Anesthesiologists to provide back up sick and vacation coverage to join our team providing our Nation's Veterans with high-quality care at the Raymond G. Murphy VA Health Care System (NMVAHCS) in Albuquerque, NM.

 

Position Overview: As an Anesthesiologist, you will provide comprehensive anesthesia services for a wide range of surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the perioperative period. This is a locum tenens position with a contract duration of up to 5 years (base year plus four 1-year options).

 

Clinic Hours:

• Monday through Thursday: 06:30-15:00
• Friday: 07:30-16:30
• May occasionally require in-hour and night shift coverage

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-anesthetic evaluations and develop appropriate anesthetic plans
• Administer and monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures
• Manage post-operative pain and recovery
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental meetings
• Comply with all VA policies, procedures, and regulations
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records using the VA's electronic health record system

 

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA)
• Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. state, territory, or commonwealth
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• U.S. citizenship required

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to obtain and maintain VA credentials and privileges
• Compliance with VA's health requirements, including required immunizations
