Summary of Position:
The Summer Orientation Intern plays a vital role in supporting the Orientation Program by assisting the office of Admissions in implementing transitional programs for students and families. The part-time employee will gain hands-on experience in orientation coordination, staff supervision, mentoring, and program assessment, providing valuable skills applicable to higher education careers.
Responsibilities:

Support First Year Experience transition programs for new students and families

Provide oversight for First Year Experience programming

Serve as a resource about the University and student services

Act as a positive leader and role model to new students and Orientation staff

Support academic transition of students to the University

Assist with logistics, outreach, communication, and event coordination

Facilitate orientation activities such as Peacock Prep Day

Manage rosters and participant tracking

Update social media pages (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)

Act as staff on duty for Orientation events and emergency response

Manage Orientation Team assignments and complete other duties as assigned
Hourly Range: $25 - $33
This is a part time position for an estimated maximum of 29 hours per week.
This position is temporary. Start and End Dates: July 1, 2025 – August 31, 2025
Qualifications
Qualifications:

Actively pursuing a master’s degree in counseling, educational leadership, student personnel, or higher education

Desire to learn about student orientation and engagement programs

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Enthusiastic, energetic, collaborative, and organized with attention to detail

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

Prior orientation experience preferred
