Job Description
- Support Proposal Development activities to include: Basis of Estimates (BOEs), Technical Volume Review and Authoring Design Quality Engineering / Quality Management sections & Draft Software Quality Assurance Plans (SQAPs)
- Review contracts and Statements of Work to determine customer requirements for development programs
- Review and approval of Contract and Supplier Data Requirements Lists (CDRL & SDRL)
- Support program milestone reviews – System Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), Test Readiness Review (TRR), Functional and Physical Configuration Audits (FCA/PCA), etc.
- Participate in Stage of Involvement reviews for DO-178 / DO-254 programs
- Support Software Verification Testing to include: Design Verification Testing (DVT), System Integration Testing (SIT), Software Formal Qualification Testing (FQT) and review of Test Scripts prior to test. Witness Software builds prior to formal release
- Perform Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) evaluations
- Conduct Process and Program Audits (SEMP, SDP, CM, SW, HW, etc)
- Review schematics, drawings, flow diagrams, etc. prior to release in Configuration Management
- Develop solutions to technical issues through the application of professionally accepted techniques, practices and procedures.
- Supports Design Quality Engineering (DQE) Manager in resource planning / budgeting required by the Design Quality Department
- Work directly with project team members, including software/hardware engineers, during key points along the software development process. Utilize the principals of the software development life cycle throughout the entire QA process.
- Participate in product meetings throughout the development process to help guide the delivery of a quality product.
- Report problems via the defect tracking system: analyze, research, and track defects through their resolution. Verify and sign off on resolutions.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor degree from an accredited course of study in engineering or computer science with 3+ years of industry experience
- Able to work in a fast-paced, independent and team-based environment.
- Must be detail-oriented individual with solid organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to communicate well with both technical and non-technical people.
- Good understanding of QA processes and methodologies in a hardware/software development environment.
- Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Experience with a version control systems, defect tracking systems, and automated testing tools.
- Ability to obtain a DOD Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience with products developed using Agile software development practices
- Experience supporting quality engineering with AS9115 and/or DO-178/DO-254 requirements
- Active DOD Secret security clearance
