About Team:
Focusing on customer, associate and business needs, this team works with Walmart International, which includes more than 5,200 retail units, operating in 23 countries such as Canada, Central America, Chile, China, India, Mexico and South Africa to name a few.

What you'll do:

Were looking for an Engineering Manager to join International Digital Experiences team.As a Manager of International back-end team, you will be responsible for leading a team of highly capable and committed engineers working on large scale back-end technologies. The team is engaged in design, development, and delivery of next-generation platforms for our customers, creating next gen services and continuously improving how we work.

You are an experienced leader and expert in backend micro services technologies.

• Partner with cross-functional team members to develop and maintain a well-defined roadmap, while balancing technological excellence.
• Lead technical direction and architecture with engineering team members.
• Facilitate coordination of multiple scrum teams to successfully deliver committed feature sets.
• Driving practices in training, development, and efficiencies across multiple feature teams.
• Diagnose and resolve systemic obstacles that prevent your team from delivering high-quality software.
• Build a culture of continuous learning, growth, and sharing of technological insights.
• Educate and advocate for engineering best practices within the backend services ecosystem.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop world-class engineers.

What you'll bring:

• 4+ years of Management experience in Engineering.
• 8+ years of software development experience building large scale micro services and scalable platforms to support complex solutions.
• Proficiency in Java, Spring boot, No SQL databases, Kafka, Cloud systems (Azure) and other modern backend technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver multiple complex technical projects in an agile environment.
• Demonstrated ability to foster a culture of learning, psychological safety, respect for differences and collaboration across all engineering skill levels.
• Strong design sensibility and attention to detail.
• Believes in the value of writing code that is clean, testable, and maintainable.
