Who are we looking for?   

 

In response to steady growth within our Water/Wastewater business, our Water group in the DC Metro Region is looking to bring onboard a motivated Project Manager to help with the continued development and growth of GHD’s Water Business. You will also provide technical leadership and delivery of major water and wastewater treatment and infrastructure projects for our clients throughout the DC Metro Region and the Southeast Region.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work, and will see you involved in: 

  • Collaborating and providing project oversight by maintaining communications between Owner, Designer, and Contractor to deliver all projects on time, at or under budget, and to the owner's expected standard of quality
  • Interact with clients and consultant partners to define project needs
  • Direct preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, opinions of probably cost, calculations, construction schedules and design for projects
  • Promote effective teamwork through mentoring and training
  • Prepare and monitor project budgets and schedules
  • Providing input concerning constructability and biddably during design and developing project construction schedules and budgets
  • Overseeing Contractor’s compliance with all requirements of project design specifications and drawings via onsite inspection staff.
  • Providing document control including processing all project correspondence, documents, and drawings. Prepare various technical reports
  • Managing on-site construction observation staff
  • Providing appropriate responses and/or recommendations to Owner on construction issues. Consult with engineering staff on all technical matters. Notify all parties of issues that impact critical path schedule.
  • Negotiating Change Orders on behalf of the Owner and coordinated with the Design Engineer, as required.
  • Assisting with equipment and process startup, testing, and optimization
  • Conduct and coordinate project closeout
  • Assist in leading the continued growth and development of our DC Metro Region linear water and wastewater practice
  • Prepare proposals and assisting in sales and marketing will also be a major part of this role plus liaising with clients, building client relationships and obtaining new business where possible

 

What you will bring to the team:

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer License (in Virginia, Maryland, or DC, with the ability to get the others through comity within 3 months)
  • 20+ years of experience in planning, design, and construction of linear water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure with at least 5 years in the DC Metro market
  • CCM Certifications is strongly desired
  • Previous consulting experience is strongly desired
  • Construction management experience is strongly desired
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills including technical report writing.
  • Experience with various document management systems, including Primavera, ProCore, E-builder, and others
  • Strong experience in schedule reviews and confirming compliance with the contract specifications
