The Challenge

We’re looking for a Senior Technical Writer to join our Technical Writing team and help shape how users leverage the OneTrust platform. This team partners closely with Product and Engineering to deliver clear, engaging, and reliable documentation — from knowledge base articles to release materials and additional publications for the OneTrust platform. We’re looking for someone organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about turning complex concepts into high-quality, user-friendly content.

Your Mission

As a Senior Technical Writer, you own the full documentation lifecycle for multiple products — from creation to continuous improvement. You ensure all audiences, from product managers to implementation specialists, have access to a single, trusted source of truth.

You will:

• Develop and maintain high-quality product documentation — procedural guides, feature overviews, and release materials.
• Collaborate with Product, Implementation, and Engineering SMEs to capture accurate, relevant information.
• Act as an SME for your products, demonstrating a deep understanding of our product space and industry, and best practices in technical communication.
• Lead documentation projects, manage cross-functional initiatives, and communicate progress to key stakeholders.
• Mentor and review the work of junior writers, fostering continuous learning and quality improvement.
• Conduct independent testing of features and functionalities, providing the Product team with user-centered insights and recommendations.
• Anticipate documentation needs, integrate user feedback, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and impact.
• Follow and contribute to our style guide to maintain a consistent and accessible voice across all content.

You Are

You are an experienced, self-driven Technical Writer who thrives on clarity, collaboration and precision. You anticipate needs, take initiative, and hold yourself accountable for producing outstanding content that enhances both user experience and product understanding.

Your Experience Includes

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Journalism, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience creating clear, high-impact software documentation through direct product testing and close collaboration with technical teams.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English — able to distill complex technical concepts into accessible, user-focused content.
• Strong research, planning, and writing abilities, with a track record of independent judgment and accountability for quality deliverables.
• Proven success managing documentation projects, balancing priorities, and driving results in agile environments.
• Skilled with collaboration tools (Confluence, Jira, etc.).
• Familiarity with HTML and CSS.
• Hands-on experience with basic image editing (markup, cropping).

Extra Awesome

• Familiarity with SaaS companies and software development.
• Experience with Paligo, a Component Content Management System (CCMS).
• Familiarity with Salesforce.
• Experience writing release notes and publishing on regular cadences independently.
