Description

The purpose of the role is to ensure the safe and efficient day to day operation of the waste transfer station under the direction of the Operations Manager and shift supervisor.To also operate the weighbridge and associated functions effectively.You must be professional and able to work effectively with little or no supervision and enjoy the challenges of supporting a rapidly growing and challenging operations/ Weighbridge Function.

Key Responsibilities

• To sort and separate waste types to ensure plant performance is at its highest.
• Training will be given on specialised plant equipment.
• Ensuring that the correct Personal Protective Equipment, as provided by the Company, is always worn. 
• The correct PPE must be always worn when handling waste materials.
• Remaining aware, always, of your responsibilities for your own Health and Safety and for the Health and Safety of your work colleagues and customers.
• Carrying out other tasks within your operational ability or for which you have received.
• Collate responsibilities and duties - Weighbridge
• Direct traffic coming onto site and operate weighbridge, recording all vehicles entering/leaving the site.
• Record weights & waste type by vehicle, completing appropriate documentation and collect driver signatures, etc for accounting purpose, update systems accordingly.
• Maintain the weighbridge and general area of the weighbridge tidy and hazard free condition.

This is not an exhaustive list.  You may also be required to carry out any other duties as required by the business that you are qualified/trained in that meet the requirements of this role 

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Working in a Recycling facility 
• Drivers Licence, CSCS 
• Ability to operate vehicles and machinery in a safe manner
