The National Director will support the medical priorities and business goals and objectives and has primary accountability for the US SEL-212 Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team.

 

This is a remote position with travel approximately 50-70% conferences and ride along with team members all over US

Key Responsibilities

  • The National Director of the US SEL-212 MSL team is responsible for the management, performance, and coaching of MSL direct reports and ensuring compliant execution of field medical plans, strategy and activities within US Medical Affairs aligned with Sobi’s Goals and Objectives.
  • Assist Medical Affairs leadership in development of field medical strategy, tactical goals, and objectives.
  • Drive the execution of Field Medical strategic and tactical plans, ensuring alignment with overall US Medical Affairs strategy; drive MSL team awareness, understanding, and commitment to achieving them
  • Responsible for setting clear goals for the team, including quarterly priorities, aligned tactics, and standards of excellence
  • Identify, set, and track impact-oriented Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics that highlight the value of Field Medical and provide regular updates related to MSL activities, initiatives, and impact to senior leadership
  • Lead MSL activities including KOL mapping, territory planning, insight gathering/review/dissemination, and support of ongoing research (clinical trials, Real-World Evidence, and Investigator Sponsored Studies, etc.)
  • Represent Field Medical in assigned Brand Medical Team meetings; accountable for delivering Field Medical priorities and KPIs in medical brand plan
  • As directed, ensure the new-hire scientific training and certification program remains up-to-date, effective, and organized
  • Lead MSL team at national, regional, and local scientific conferences, including comprehensive meeting planning and coverage, Medical booth responsibilities, facilitating scientific communications, gathering competitive intelligence, and facilitating the development of timely, quality meeting reports and summaries, as appropriate
  • Responsible for the hiring, retention, and professional development of MSLs. This includes regular, ongoing coaching, feedback, and mentoring, performance management, and providing professional growth and development opportunities
  • Share and promote best practices and provide feedback for MSL excellence around insight gathering and documentation, scientific exchange, health-care decision maker education, and research/clinical trial support
  • Foster trusted, collaborative relationships with internal colleagues (Senior Medical Director, Medical Affairs colleagues, Marketing, Patient Advocacy, Market Access, Commercial field leadership etc.) to develop, deliver, and participate in Medical and/or cross-functional initiatives, as appropriate
  • Specific expectations of National Director include:
    • Weekly 1:1 meetings with each MSL to provide timely coaching, feedback, and development discussions
    • Observe MSL-KOL interactions via quarterly field or virtual “ride-alongs” with each MSL
    • Conduct weekly National MSL team calls, provide agenda with actionable items
