Position Summary

The Operations Manager will assist in directing all aspects of event supervision including event set-up, facility operations and production.  This position will oversee the venue operations, security and including policy formulation, production, maintenance, housekeeping, purchasing, and contracted services. This position will assure the highest quality service to the assigned venue and all visitors, tenants and/or stakeholders.

 

This role will pay a salary of $55,000 to $60,000.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage conversions of the event floor based ont he type of event and client's requirements
  • Assure facility readiness and smooth operation of events
  • Assist General Manager and Senior Leadership with establishing and maintaining a working Standard Operating Procedure for all aspects of the building
  • Coordinate the operations activities with other building departments and outside contractors to ensure events run smoothly while set-ups are taking place
  • Select, train, motivate and evaluate Housekeeping and Operations Supervisors and part time staff
  • Provide and/or coordinate department staff training, to include mandatory company trainings to ensure compliance and staff development that meets OVG standards
  • Ensure staff is working safely, efficiently and are aware of proper safety guidelines
  • Plan, direct, coordinate, and review the work plan for facility event operations
  • Order supplies and materials for housekeeping and operations departments within budget guidelines; receive, inventory, and maintain supplies
  • Provide excellent customer service assistance to internal and external clients
  • Maintain a customer first mentality
  • Work with staff Supervisors and staff to correct deficiencies; implement timely disciplinary and exiting procedure
  • Assists General Manager in the overall daily operation of the facilities.  
  • Coordinate labor hours for staff. Report labor allocations to the Accounting Manager.
  • responsible for the timekeeping of hours for teh department in accordnace with teh payroll requirements to ensure accuracy of pay.
  • Participate in the development and administration of the Operations budget; forecast of additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; monitor and approve expenditures; implement adjustments as necessary.
  • Maintain hazardous materials communication program, material safety data sheets and required records and permits; maintain knowledge of changes in pertinent Federal, State and Local regulations.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in event management, sports administration,  business administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in facility operations supervision or with comparable increasing responsibility in a public assembly facility with knowledge of set up/housekeeping, conversion and/or event coordination
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of supervisory skills and principles, with experience in work crew supervision and working on a varied work schedule in facility operations 
  • Self-motivated with excellent organ
