Then you might be our new Director of Medium Power Product Engineering.

 

In this role, you will lead and manage the Ames, IA Horizon 1 Engineering team of about 15 engineers and designers, with global dotted line responsibility for all Medium Power BU Engineering, including colleagues in the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Notably, the role requires close coordination with our Engineering team in India, including periodic travel to India. You will help prioritize and ensure follow-up on short-term customer requests, new product development, and the long-term technology roadmap for the Medium Power BU. In addition, as a Medium Power Leadership Team member, you will bring your passion for technology to cross-functional challenges and help develop and execute the BU strategy.

Job Responsibilities

As Director – Medium Power Product Engineering, you will mainly focus on:


•    Managing a local and global team responsible for Horizon 1 activities including product modifications and customer support for the full Medium Power BU product portfolio
•    Representing Medium Power Engineering in cross-functional projects, while delegating and empowering your team to lead and contribute while developing their skills
•    Working effectively with cross-functional teams and promoting cooperation while making tough decisions when needed
•    Developing your team in both technical and leadership competencies
•    Working with your team to solve engineering challenges critical to our business success
•    Participating in the Medium Power BU Leadership Team activities

Background & Skills

Basic Qualifications:
•    Passion for technology, with Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or comparable experience, and proven learning agility
•    7+ years of experience in a technical field
•    Strong leadership and management skills and proven potential for professional development
•    Ambitious and passionate to achieve results and make bold decisions 
•    Good interpersonal communication, listening, and influencing skills
•    Proponent of the Danfoss sustainability strategy, focused on decarbonization, circularity, diversity, equity, and inclusion
•    Fluent English language skills and ability to navigate across cultures

 

Preferred Qualifications:
•    Master’s degree in engineering or business, or comparable experience
•    Experience with hydrostatics engineering, systems engineering, and/or mobile equipment design in a global manufacturing company
•    5+ years of leadership experience
