Join us at BŌK Modern a cutting-edge architectural metal systems company located in downtown San Rafael, CA. A wholly owned subsidiary of Armstrong World Industries, Inc., we specialize in ultra-modern architectural metal systems for balcony guardrails, stair guard rails, wall screens, canopies and fencing among multiple other solutions. You will be participating in a wide variety of national and international landmark projects, developing design and technical ideas to facilitate a client’s vision.

The Role:

BŌK Modern is seeking an advanced level Architectural Drafter with multi-family residential, mixed-use, and/or commercial projects experience. We are seeking candidates with a holistic understanding of architectural drafting and the ability to efficiently communicate through architectural drawings, from the big picture to the smallest detail. If you love coming up with design and technical solutions for a diverse range of architectural products, then this job could be the right fit for you.

 

This position is ideal for someone who wants to expand their architectural detailing skills beyond conventional architecture. You will be working directly with project design managers to resolve challenging design and technical challenges by preparing shop drawings and installation detailing for BŌK Modern’s proprietary architectural metal systems.

 

Onsite employees are preferred for this position. Remote candidates may also be considered.  For remote hires, BŌK Modern will provide paid onsite training, and the employee can work remotely after that, with on-site meetings with the team monthly.

 

What you’ll be doing

• Use computer-aided drafting (CAD) software to create full-scale and detailed designs of buildings and exteriors
• Studies and integrates correct building codes and regulations into architectural designs
• Organize structural, electronical, and mechanical designs
• Draws plans for foundations, buildings, and structures based on instructions provided by engineers and architects
• Visit jobsites together data needed to complete and update designs for accuracy
• Determine the type of materials needed and calculate the quantity to be ordered
• Working with an architect, generate cost estimates, contracts, and other documents required for projects
• Performs other duties as assigned

 

What will make you successful

• Ideal candidate will have experience with construction detailing for a diverse range of building types and exterior detailing
• AutoCAD and Revit proficiency a must; Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Sketch-Up, Rhino and Photoshop a plus
• Full cycle drafting experience from schematic design (SD) through construction administration and documentation (CA / CD)
