G100 is a Gastroenterology and Hepatology unit that cares for patients with gastrointestinal and liver diseases and pre-transplant patients. Common diagnoses that are treated on this unit include Crohn’s disease, colitis, gastroparesis, gastrointestinal bleeding, pancreatitis, liver failure, complex multi-organ failure, nausea and sepsis.
A caregiver in this position works from 7:00am – 7:30pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN. Patient care may include vital signs, weight, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living, patient transfers/transport, pulse oximetry, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley catheter.
Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, 3mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
A high school diploma or GED
Nursing students: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
One year of recent, full-time patient care experience OR nursing student who has completed at least one clinical rotation as part of an accredited nursing school program OR military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA). If you do not hold this certification, you must obtain it during your new hire period

Physical Requirements:
