Evotec, a global leader in Neuroscience innovation, is seeking an experienced Vice President of Neuroscience to spearhead the continued growth and success of our groundbreaking Neuroscience research programs. As a central member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping and advancing our efforts in neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders.
Evotec’s Neuroscience Department is comprised of over 250 scientists focused on discovering transformative therapies in Neuroscience. Our long-term partnerships with BMS is a testament to our commitment to pioneering Neuroscience advancements.
Key Responsibilities:
Scientific Management: Oversee and guide various programs from H2L to IND program utilizing multiple modalities including small molecules, ASOs, and biologics. Lead multiple project teams in a matrix set-up with strong guidance, critical assessment and pragmatic recommendations, and securing quality of science, excellence in execution and consistency in decisions.
Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic support to the Head of Neuroscience in leading the late-stage portfolio of the BMS-Evotec Neuroscience collaboration from H2L to IND program.
Thought Leadership: Act as representative of Evotec Neuroscience regarding the late-stage portfolio, forging relationships with internal and external stakeholders to elevate our research impact and reach
Portfolio Expansion: Identify and pursue licensing and partnership opportunities to expand and complement internal neuroscience initiatives.
Ideal qualifications:
Deep Neuroscience Expertise: Extensive knowledge of the mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders, with a history of success in these fields.
Proven Industry Track Record: Extensive experience in Neuroscience R&D experience in drug discovery and development, from target identification to clinical PoC, within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
Versatile Therapeutic Experience: Proficiency in various therapeutic modalities, particularly small molecules; ideally also in antibodies, and ASOs, with hands-on experience in applying advanced methodologies in CNS drug discovery.
Cross-Disciplinary Team Leadership & Project Management Skills: Experience leading and mentoring cross-functional teams in drug discovery in a matrix to drive forward ambitious scientific objectives. Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and
