Job Summary:

The Data Platform Business Director will serve as the Business Owner of the bank’s enterprise data platforms, including data warehouses and the data lake. This leadership role carries end-to-end accountability for the strategic direction, operational oversight, and data quality of these platforms, ensuring they effectively support risk, regulatory, and business intelligence needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Ownership: Define and drive the long-term vision and roadmap for the bank’s data platforms, aligning with enterprise data strategy and regulatory expectations.

  • Operational Oversight: Lead the day-to-day operations of the data warehouse and data lake environments, ensuring performance, scalability, and resilience.

  • Data Quality & Controls: Oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of data quality controls, including profiling, monitoring, and remediation processes to ensure data is trusted, accurate, and fit-for-purpose.

  • Governance & Compliance: Ensure adherence to data governance policies and regulatory requirements, particularly in support of risk and financial crimes compliance (FCC), AML, and KYC reporting.

  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of at least five professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with technology, risk, compliance, and business stakeholders to ensure platform capabilities meet evolving needs.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in data platform management, data governance, or enterprise data architecture within financial services.

  • Strong understanding of data quality frameworks, regulatory reporting requirements, and risk data aggregation principles.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing high-performing teams.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Familiarity with modern data technologies and cloud-based data platforms is a plus.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $173K - $216K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
