Hours per Pay Period:  1.00 = 80 hours every two weeks (Exempt)
Starting Wage DOE:  $40.91 - $51.14

The Peer Review Specialist is a position within the Patient Safety Department of Billings Clinic. This role serves as a subject matter expert in peer review systems and coordination, supporting the delivery of the highest quality and safest care while promoting transparency, provider engagement, and system-level learning. The Peer Review Specialist collaborates closely with the Peer Review Chair and Patient Safety team to ensure consistency in peer review referrals and reviews, timeliness of responses, and completion of organizational-level process improvement activities identified through the peer review process. Responsibilities include management of peer review case logistics, facilitation of committee processes, cause analysis activities with strong provider involvement, and alignment of peer review findings with Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) metrics.

Essential Job Functions

• Peer Review Process Management
Coordinate all logistics for peer review cases, including intake through entry into RL event reporting system, tracking, reviewer assignments, documentation, and follow-up communications.
Prepare standardized case packets and summaries for Peer Review Committee (PRC) meetings and maintain accurate, confidential case records in peer review systems.
Monitor case volumes, turnaround times, and completion rates; implement process improvements to ensure timely, consistent, and transparent reviews.
Facilitate expedited or external peer review arrangements as needed, in collaboration with Risk Management.
• Provider Engagement and Education
Serve as a resource for providers regarding peer review processes, expectations, and status updates,
Develop and distribute educational materials to support understanding of peer review and related performance improvement activities.
