Regional Operations Manager 

As the Regional Operations Manager for TechPro Power Group, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing the operations and financials of a dynamic service area. In this impactful position, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of providing strategic direction and oversight to a team of dedicated leaders, including Field Service Technicians, Field Service Supervisors, and Project Managers, within a defined Field Services area or territory. 

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations, you will be a key driver of success, ensuring the efficient coordination of resources, fostering a culture of excellence, and contributing to the overall growth and profitability of our organization. Your leadership will be instrumental in maintaining high standards of service delivery, achieving operational goals, and fortifying TechPro Power Group's position as an industry leader. 


Location: South Bend, Indiana 


Compensation: $150k-$180k base salary, plus bonus opportunities.


Responsibilities: 

Safety Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain a culture of “safety first” throughout the region. 
  • Respond personally to emergencies and make decisions as necessary. 
  • Monitor regional performance regarding overall safety, ensuring adherence to company culture and objectives. 

Leadership Responsibilities: 

  • Organizational leadership of service operations for the assigned region. 
  • Provide oversight to project management, operational, and technical personnel in the region, including union personnel, ensuring compliance with union regulations and effective project execution.
  • Maintain effective communications with appropriate personnel, keeping them informed of all aspects relevant to their duties. 
  • Build rapport and positive working relationships with field personnel, staff personnel, and other management. 
  • Develop the regional team to create a culture of teamwork and actively engage the team to leverage strengths and achieve business objectives. 
  • Carry out leadership responsibilities in accordance with policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, and resolving issues. 

Project Management Oversight: 

  • Lead bidding and negotiating opportunities for the assigned region. 
  • Take profit and loss responsibility for the assigned region. 
  • Lead the management of projects in accordance with company procedures and policies, acting as the project manager as necessary. 
  • Accurately determine job priorities when scheduling personnel and resources. 
  • Assure that field personnel and materials are on the job at the right time. 
  • Assist in Accounts Receivable as appropriate. 
  • Lead the performance management of assigned personnel. 

Functional Responsibilities: 

  • Monitor regional performance regarding overall cost-effectiveness, quality, and productivity. 
  • Provide technical guidance when needed. 
  • Provide tactical and strategic oversight of the operations team for the assigned region. 
  • Develop and direct long-term and short-term departmental strategies to allow the      company to remain competitive, achieve targets, and reduce costs. 
  • Develop and direct new work processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials. 
  • Assure proper staffing, training, tools, test equipment, systems, and procedures to ensure high-quality work in a safe manner. 
  • Coordinate cross-functionally as needed for technical expertise. 
  • Ensure departmental goals are accomplished by developing and managing short and long-range staffing plans and providing input for annual budgets. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, business, or related field is preferred. 
  • Professional Engineering License is a plus. 
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus. 
  • 8 years of experience as an electrical technician, demonstrating a broad base of commercial and industrial commissioning, testing, and applications. 
  • 5 or more years of experience leading projects, ensuring contractual obligations are met within budget, on schedule, with a strong focus on quality and safety. 
  • Experience estimating projects for commercial and industrial electrical services.
