Meritus Health is officially seeking accreditation and licensure to open a proposed four-year osteopathic medical school in Hagerstown.

About the Role:  Reporting directly to our Chief Strategy Officer, The Director of Marketing/Communications connects our vision, mission and values through ongoing and consistent internal staff communications and through telling our story externally. We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Director of Marketing and Communications to lead our efforts in promoting our brand and engaging our community. As a key leader within the organization, you will oversee a talented team responsible for all aspects of branding, advertising, media relations, social media, and our digital presence. This role is pivotal in enhancing our community's engagement with their health through digital channels.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:

• This role will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all marketing and communications activities by Corp Comm team and prioritizes work to align with the Annual Operating Plan and strategic goals.
• Serve as a lead content creator for the health system overseeing the development and design of public-facing materials that communicate key messages to target audiences.
  Oversee media relations including pitching stories to local and national media outlets to promote brand recognition as well promoting Meritus success stories and accomplishments
• Develops deliverables related to collateral, thought leadership, proposals, monthly blasts, digital media, events, and industry rankings.
• Represents and promotes the health system while increasing its visibility and supporting its mission, vision, and goals.
• Leads the development and implementation of the health system’s, strategy, and marketing campaigns to create a distinct positioning and identity, attracts the best workforce, motivates donors, and recruits high-quality faculty and staff.
• Leads social media marketing efforts including, but not limited to, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other platforms.
• Requires day-to-day team leadership with a focus on building a strong culture of collaboration and teamwork that relies on open and honest communication with clear lines of accountability.

Position Requires

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in healthcare management, with direct oversight of marketing or digital teams preferred.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field preferred.
