Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.- 5:30 p.m.; On-call requirement for this position on off-hours includes nights and weekends.
SUMMARY:
The R.N. II maintains quality patient care through consistent standards of nursing practice in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. Utilizes the nursing process: assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate to execute appropriate individual patient care. Responsible for orientation, training/precepting, and mentoring of other staff on the unit. The R.N. is instrumental in providing an exceptional experience for the patient and family.
Interventional Radiology (IR) and Cardiac Catheterization (Cath) Lab is a fast-paced specialty unit, providing care for patients undergoing advanced diagnostic and interventional procedures, including cardiac catheterizations, angioplasty, stent placement, electrophysiology studies, and interventional radiology procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assessment - Perform initial and ongoing assessment of the patient; demonstrate exceptional clinical judgment and advanced assessment skills; communicate and document assessment with interdisciplinary team; utilize all available resources in order to meet the needs of the patient and family.
Planning & Implementation - Develop and document plan of care, treatment, and services; collaborate interdisciplinary health team to deliver care; maintain an appropriate nurse-patient relationship and provide an exceptional experience for the patient and family.
Evaluation & Education - Evaluate, communicate, and document patient responses to care; revise plan of care based on ongoing evaluations; ensure the patient receives and understands education/training specific to their needs and abilities.
Training - Provide training for new team members on the unit; assume the role of teacher for nursing students and other students shadowing on the unit; act as a resource for other team members for both clinical and non-clinical matters.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing required.
Registered Nurse license in New York State.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
Minimum of 6 months of experience as a Registered Nurse.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
ICU, IR/Cath Lab, Acute care experience preferred.
