About the role

Turner Industries Group is looking for a Contract Administrator for our Pipe Fabrication Facility in Port Allen, LA.

General Job Description: Review and administer various contracts, service agreements, purchase orders other types of agreements consistent with the company's corporate philosophies for the Pipe Fabrication Division.

Qualification Standards

  • Minimum (5) five years of experience or equivalent combinations of experience and training
  • Act as a liaison between owners, contractors, project management, home office management, and other departments.
  • Knowledge of contract language and legal phrases
  • Must have working knowledge of all applicable computer and software programs and platforms in which contracts are digitally transmitted.
  • Must have working knowledge of computer software such as Wordperfect, Excel, Word, Windows, and other various software.
  • Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be self-directed and detail oriented.
  • Must be able to organize and prioritize workload, adapt quickly to change, and deliver under the pressure of deadlines.
  • Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Group, LLC Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy.
  • Applicant must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.

Functional Requirements

  • Contract preparation, identifying contractual obligations, including analyzing, reviewing and redlining documents and the ability to negotiate terms and conditions.
  • Gathers, coordinates, and reports relevant information for review of contracts, purchase orders, and change orders, as well as serves as the point of contact for customers as appropriate.
  • Assists General Counsel and other attorneys in the Legal Department in negotiations of submitted contracts with customers, performs additional assignments as required.
  • Interact with home office and estimating departments during pre-award and post-award phases (RFP process) regarding contractual issues, questionnaires, including Job Order/Work Order review and pertinent document submittals.
  • Assist in contractual dispute resolutions, including discovery requests and research to support mediation/litigation.
  • Review project specific lien releases.
  • Assist Project team with all general questions regarding contract issues.
  • Assist Business Development with third party contracts systems.
  • Work closely with subcontracts administrators to negotiate "issue" subcontracts to finalization.
  • Create and maintain an internal contracts administration database and system for the company.
  • Assist other departments with contract language interpretations as it regards to audits, payment related contract issues, and billing issues.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

Physical and Mental Involvement:

Employee may be required to do the following: reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials; lifting 10 to 15 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead, carrying objects etc. standing; sitting; walking; pushing bending, kneeling, crouching/squatting, seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction, typing/data entry stepstool use. May be required to do the following: following set procedures and standards; knowledge of federal, state and company standards and regulations, ability to read and write, ability to recognize and report safety hazards etc., interpret written plans and blueprints, applying basic mathematical skills, planning work and selecting proper tools, comparing and understanding differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects, picturing, and evaluating solid objects form drawing or diagrams using standards that can be measured or checked, ability to communicate with others effectively , ability to work in a team and get along with others. ability to learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus and complete tasks, ability to maintain calm under pressure, manage time and expectations across multiple projects, ensure that work is done in a consistent manner and in compliance with directions.

1. Location: climate controlled office, environment at fabrication facility, shop walks may be possible, may be required to travel and/or visit various job sites.
