Job Summary:

Serves as the front line, essential “face” of School of Nursing and Health Professions (SONHP) with prospective students, Nursing and Health organizations, Health Science Advisors, College Counselors, Community Partners, and health care professionals. The SONHP Graduate Program Recruiter reports to the Director of Graduate Enrollment Operations and will be responsible for recruiting students, advising on programs within the School, and implementation of outreach strategies.

The Graduate Program Recruiter ensures that the SONHP graduate programs are a good fit for
prospective students and subsequently that admitted students matriculate. Respond to inquiries and
represent SONHP at local, regional and national recruitment events. The Graduate Program Recruiter will mine leads toward enrollment conversion; escalate fit prospects through the enrollment funnel (market, prospect, student); manage strong relationships with prospects; meet articulated lead­ to­ enrollment conversion rates toward achieving enrollment goals in a performance­ driven and results­ oriented professional environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Recruit and counsel prospective students on program options, requirements, policies, and procedures of the graduate admission process in order to meet the University’s enrollment and revenue goals.

  • Meet weekly, monthly and quarterly prospect, applicant and enrollment goals, which includes calls and appointments (scheduled and conducted);

  • Works with the Director to develop enrollment and recruitment plans and manage applicant data. Review enrollment reports weekly, assist with the enrollment projections by semester and communicate to internal stakeholders throughout the admission cycle

  • Plan for, lead and facilitate on-campus and off campus recruiting events such as fairs, conferences, career events, information sessions, webinars, chat sessions and other special recruiting events

  • Develops and execute communication (digital, e-communications, invitations, etc.) plans via Slate CRM for prospective students and applicants

  • Work with faculty, advisors, and other administrators to coordinate successful events

  • Identifies opportunities to partner and collaborate with neighboring universities, colleges, USF undergraduate programs and student organizations for pipelining of potential candidates for USF graduate programs

  • Maintain communication with prospects from prospect pool in order to determine interest levels and to increase applicant pool; conduct follow up as needed by telephone, email, or letter. Track prospective student inquiries and ensure a timely and informative follow-up

  • Increase communications (email and direct mail) with prospects from purchased databases and e-newsletter campaigns (Smartbrief, Multiview, US News Student Connect, Idealist.org members, gradschools.com prospects, California Diversity Forum attendees, and others).

  • Provide information on curriculum, financial aid, the application process, and other services and activities to prospective students, both pre­ and post­ application

  • Provides assistance and training to SONHP staff and faculty regarding graduate recruitment best practices.

  • Contributes to the yearly planning and evaluation of recruitment and admission efforts

  • Maintain and nurture partnerships with graduate program directors and other faculty and graduate admission staff as well as other key internal constituents

  • Provides Leadership to the Student Ambassador program alongside the Director of Graduate Enrollment Management (including recruiting ambassadors, planning student ambassador events, collaborating with ambassadors at events, training, and connecting ambassadors to prospective students)

  • Represent USF in a professional manner at all times, providing excellent communication and outreach services

  • Additional duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Experience with and demonstrated ability to work with a diverse student body, faculty and staff.

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in student recruitment and admission required, or substantially similar work experience.

  • Experience in an admissions environment.

  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.

  • Precise knowledge of office and university policy and procedures; comfort and experience with university systems. Knowledge of Slate by Technolutions CRM and Banner student software is a plus.
