Job Duties

To carry out the responsibilities for managing, supervising and coordinating the day-to-day administration of the Interstate Corrections Compact as delegated by the Chief of Corrections Operations, Inmate Management Services. To perform work of considerable difficulty requiring independent examination and assessment of records to determine eligibility, suitability, acceptability and legality of Inmate's transfer to other states that maintain an agreement with Virginia to participate in the Interstate Corrections Compact process. Provides information and clarity for the Department of Juvenile Justice inmates prior to being received into the VADOC. Explains the expectations of the VADOC and what to expect as a new prisoner intake.

Minimum Qualifications

Considerable knowledge of the criminal justice system including Laws of Virginia Relating to Corrections. Ability to interpret and understand Inmate file materials and other related legal documents.

Additional Considerations

Effective communication abilities to include both written and oral language skills. Advanced knowledge in criminal justice, social work, behavioral science or related field and/or considerable experience in criminal justice or relate field.
