Summary
The Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Associate supports the planning, preparation and execution of routine maintenance and capital replacement activities within the electric distribution system. Ensures work is completed safely, efficiently and in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. Under the guidance of the O&M Coordinator and Sr Coordinator, the Associate contributes to the development and coordination of planned, non-emergent work packages.
This rotational role is designed to add immediate operational capacity while helping you build broad, real-world experience across Metro operations. You’ll learn planning and coordination fundamentals, support field execution, and grow into a strong future Operations & Maintenance coordinator by working alongside teams at multiple locations.
This role’s is based out of our Deer Valley (Phoenix, AZ, 85021). You’ll also be required to travel within the Phoenix metro area to support one of five metro operations locations as needed to help cover staffing gaps, priority project work, and support periods of higher workload. Travel will vary based on operational needs.
Minimum Requirements
- A Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Construction Management or other job-related field from an accredited college or university plus one (1) years experience in construction management, maintenance, project management, customer facing roles involving scope definition, timeline coordination, budget management and stakeholder engagement and/or other job-related fields.
- Or, Associates degree plus three (3) years experience in construction management, maintenance, project management, customer facing roles involving scope definition, timeline coordination, budget management and stakeholder engagement and/or other job-related fields.
- Or, high school diploma/GED plus five (5) years experience in construction management, maintenance, project management, customer facing roles involving scope definition, timeline coordination, budget management and stakeholder engagement and/or other job-related fields.
- Valid Arizona Drivers License.
Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications:
- Experience in Construction and/or maintenance operations.
- Experience with customer interface, ability to adapt/respond to a variety of stakeholders, manage complaints, negotiation skills, and problem solving.
- Business, planning, and project management skills.
- Computer skills: Windows, Word Excel, CC&B, GIS, and work order management programs such as Maximo and Primavera.
- Proficiency in the application of PC skills and programs for data management and project scheduling as well as the analytical ability to evaluate the interdependent relationship of project variables.
- Basic electricity course and drafting/CAD experience.
- Successful completion of college Algebra.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills.
