Medical Assistant

Job Type Full-time Description

  

Supports the registered nurse with non-clinical tasks related to surgical patient care, including pre-operative and post-operative procedures.

Essential Functions

Assist the registered nurse in the physical and psychological assessment of the patient pre-operatively.

Assist the registered nurse in planning, preparation, and implementation of post-procedure care and discharge of patients.

Perform technical and specialized skills relevant to pre-operative and post-operative nursing.

Communicate clearly and concisely with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.

Effectively utilizes interpersonal skills.

Maintain professional competence through participation in in-service programs and other appropriate learning experiences.

Demonstrate reliability and take ownership of assigned tasks.

Contribute to the overall efficiency of the surgical center by performing other duties as directed.

Perform other related duties as directed for the efficient operation of the Surgery Center.

Requirements

Job Specifications  
 

Typically has the following skills or abilities:
 

Minimum of one year MA experience preferred.

Completion of a formal medical assistant program.

Certified in CPR.

Experience in pre-op/PACU or surgical suite desirable.

Required to be able to withstand long and strenuous periods of work which include extensive walking, standing, and varied body motions.

Physical work not to exceed fifty (50) pounds without assistance.

The compensation range for the role is listed below. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. As a part of the compensation package, this role may include eligible bonuses and commissions.
