Description
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Insurance Risk Analyst with 3–5 years of experience assessing risk in complex environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial statement analysis, large data set interpretation, and a solid understanding of construction subcontractor risk and claims—particularly as it relates to Subcontractor Default Insurance (SDI) and/or surety. This is a remote role requiring flexibility to travel and meet client needs across the U.S. and Canada.

The Role
Risk Assessment & Financial Analysis
- Analyze subcontractor financial statements and operational data to assess default risk.
- Review and interpret economic and market trends to identify emerging risks impacting construction and
- insurance markets.
- Evaluate subcontractor portfolios to identify exposures for general contractors and underwriters.
Data Management & Reporting
- Work with large, complex data sets to develop actionable risk insights and data management.
- Create and deliver dashboards, market intelligence reports, and client-specific analytics.
- Utilize visual business intelligence platforms such as Power BI or HPI to present data-driven findings.
Client Engagement & Technical Communication
- Collaborate with clients to understand their subcontractor risk profiles and deliver clear recommendations.
- Lead or support the development and administration of customized market surveys and benchmarking reports.
- Conduct one-on-one and group training sessions, presenting complex data concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
Technology & Platform Management
- Support the development and administration of internal tools and risk analysis platforms.
- Work with third-party technologies to streamline data intake, analysis, and reporting.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of tools and methodologies for assessing construction-related risk
The Requirements
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in insurance, risk analytics, or construction finance
- Strong understanding of Subcontractor Default Insurance (SDI), surety, or similar risk transfer mechanisms
- Experience working with or supporting general contractors in the U.S. and/or Canada
- Advanced knowledge of financial statement analysis, cash flow modeling, and economic trend analysis
- High proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and familiarity with other data visualization platforms
- Proven ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and respond quickly to changing priorities
- Experience in developing, managing, and delivering client reports and presentations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable speaking to small and large audiences
- Passionate self-starter with excellent organizational and prioritization skills

Compensation and Benefits
Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation (Producer roles only).
Compensation
The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $150,000.00-$200,000.00 USD annually.
This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
