Position Description Summary
The Department of Rehabilitation Sciences at Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position to support our dynamic Speech-Language Pathology graduate program and our Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology undergraduate program. We are seeking a visionary educator and researcher committed to advancing these programs through innovative teaching, scholarly excellence, and student-centered engagement. The successful candidate will complement the expertise of current faculty, foster a collaborative environment, and contribute to the continued development and recognition of our department.
The home campus for this position is Bloomsburg with the expectation of serving a multi-campus University within the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.
About the Department: The Department of Rehabilitation Sciences offers high quality programs at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate level, preparing graduates for successful careers in allied health, public schools, private practice, and other work settings — to include some of the most sought-after careers in a growing competitive global job market. The undergraduate and graduate Speech-Language Pathology (M.S.) and Audiology (Au.D.) programs are supported by 12 full-time faculty and clinical staff. In addition to our in-house clinic, faculty have access to state-of-the-art simulation labs at Commonwealth University totaling 8,713 square feet, which are designed to support immersive, hands-on clinical education. This cutting edge facility enables innovative teaching approaches, including high-fidelity simulation, interprofessional collaboration, and experiential learning that bridges classroom knowledge with real-world practice. Faculty are encouraged and supported in developing forward-thinking cirricula, integrating emerging technologies, and advancing creative pedagogical models that prepare students for the evolving landscape of speech-language pathology. Faculty-led research is supported though generous internal grants, and our various programs within the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences and the College of Health, Science, and Technology provide excellent opportunities to conduct collaborative research and engagement in interprofessional education.
