The Product Specialist plays a pivotal role in executing strategic initiatives developed by the Product Marketing Managers, with a dedicated focus on the Beauty, Personal Care (BPC) and Home & Industrial Cleaning (HIC) industries. This position is responsible for coordinating cross-functional activities to drive product line success, optimize profitability through strategic pricing and cost management, and strengthen supplier relationships through proactive and targeted communication. In this role, the Product Specialist will serve as a key liaison between product management, various internal groups, and with a special emphasis on supporting the CARE line of business and advancing growth within the BPC and HIC markets.

 

What you´ll do:

• Create new reports and data visualizations in Tableau/Excel.
• Maintain daily business operations of the product line:
• Provide direction as needed to sales, purchasing, customer service, operations, and network planning in support of daily business decisions
• Complete new product set-up in support of product launches
• Maintain knowledge of and communicate all necessary product information to the organization in a timely manner
• Serve as acting product manager when Product Line Manager is out of the office
• Price and Cost Administration:
• Execute and communicate price strategy to the sales team as directed by the Product Line Managers
• Manage and approve any customer-specific cost supports
• Primary contact for all pricing questions or issues from sales organization
• Supplier relationship:
• Maintain close supplier relationships with frequent, proactive, and professional communication to supplier representatives
• Develop or maintain supplier reports as directed by the Product Line Manager
• Participate in periodic supplier meetings

 

What you´ll need:

• At least a bachelor’s degree in business, science, or a technical field.
• Preferred 3 years of related experience in the chemical industry
• High level of data analysis and MS Excel proficiency (Pivot tables, Vlookup/Xlookup, combining data sets, charting and visualizations)
• Experience creating and/or working with Tableau reporting highly preferred but not required.
• Salesforce.com experience preferred but not required.
• Experience coordinating effectively across many functions to gain alignment and influence execution
• Able to manage multiple projects with high levels of detail
• Projects a professional and positive image both inside and outside of the company
• Proficiency PowerPoint
• Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills for effective coordination within the department, across the organization, and outside the organization.
• Ability to establish strong working relationships and influence action
• Ability to drive continuous improvement in business processes
• Demonstrated negotiation skills and strong business acumen
• Strong organizational skills, time management skills, and ability to prioritize
• Demonstrated ability to make data driven decisions and recommendations
• Must be able to travel as needed; however, minimal travel is required in this role; ~5-10% of time

Pay & Benefits:

The salary range for this role is USD 77,420 - 96,780. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be motivated by a variety of factors including the candidate’s proven experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive pay.  Available employee benefits include health, vision, and dental.  We also provide 401k matching for retirement and paid time off.
