Scope: The First Assistant Golf Professional will assist the Head Professional with daily operations inclusive of: merchandising, lesson curriculum, tournaments, and tee sheet reconciliation.
The position will promote an exceptional "golf experience," and provide excellent services and programs to all patrons.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Head Golf Professional in managing the facility in an efficient, high-quality, service oriented manner.
2. Assist the Head Golf Professional with daily operations inclusive of: Tournaments, Merchandise, Tee Sheet, and Instruction.
3. Assist the Head Golf Professional in promoting and operating the facility to drive revenue.
4. Assist the Head Golf Professional in training, and motivating the staff to meet facility objectives, especially in providing exceptional customer service.
5. Assist the Head Golf Professional with the starting and monitoring of play.
6. Assist the Head Golf Professional with tracking and verifying all players and guests, golf cars, club care, lockers, handicap fees, and other charges necessary.
7. Enforce all rules and regulations governing golf course usage.
8. Assist the Head Golf Professional with the development and management of an innovative tournament program that services all customer segments.
9. Assist the Head Golf Professional with the development and oversight of golf instruction and golfer development programs for all customer segments.
10. Assist in the marketing and promotion of new memberships / play.
11. Assist the Head Golf Professional with ordering, receiving, invoicing, and placing merchandise on the sales floor in a presentable fashion.
12. Assist the Head Golf Professional with the preparation of golf tournament outings and utilizing Golf Genius.
13. Assist the Head Golf Professional with the tracking, maintenance, receiving, and returning of leased rental clubs.
Note: Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Creative Ability: • Create instructional programs to enhance service and maintain interest and enthusiasm among all customer segments. • Assist in marketing and promotion for instruction programming. • Create a player development program to foster a competitive environment and provide career guidance for aspiring youth.
Education: A level one certification, or greater preferred. A minimum of two years of college, or equivalent experience will be considered. Candidates should posses experience in staff supervision, golf instruction, customer service, and computer technology including POS.
