Job Summary

We are integral members of the RDK Operations team within the Global Delivery Organization at TPX. Our team spearheads the transformation of automated testing methodologies for intricate Customer Premises Equipment, including TV, Streaming Boxes, Broadband Routers, and Smart Home Devices. In the domains of DevOps and software QA, our collective understanding underscores the critical significance of automated testing in upholding quality standards amidst continuous delivery.
We engineer tools and platforms designed to streamline automation testing processes, yielding expedited results, extensive test coverage, and proactive bug identification. Acknowledging the limitations of conventional automation testing frameworks, particularly within the realm of sophisticated architectures inherent in leading-edge technologies, we stand out with our innovative solutions. Our methodology capitalizes on cutting-edge automation testing frameworks and tools tailored specifically for the intricacies of devices under test. Job Description

Core Responsibilities

• Collaborate with department technology teams, both test and development to identify future automation framework scopes.
• Design and develop software frameworks, automation tools and scripts using modern test automation methods.
• Develop, test, and deploy reliable, efficient, and cost-effective test automation solutions. Provide support to QA/Dev/Ops in the utilization of these automation solutions.
• Researches, writes and edits documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals and formal recommendations and reports.
• Monitors and evaluates competitive applications and products. Reviews literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.
• Displays in-depth knowledge of engineering methodologies, concepts, skills and their application in the area of specified engineering specialty.
• Displays in-depth knowledge of and ability to apply, process design and redesign skills. Presents and defends architectural, design and technical choices to internal audiences.
• Works with technology partner/vendor teams to troubleshoot problems.
• Involved in defining and implementing continuous improvement process initiative.
• Serve as a guide and mentor for junior-level engineers. Provides technical leadership and consultation with regards to practices, procedures and techniques.
• Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
• Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary .
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills Required:

• Relevant proven experience in large scale software development
• Experience building and shipping services on Kubernetes
• Collaborated with teams to write software to support cloud services at scale
• Programming experience in a relevant language, e.g. JAVA, Python
• CI/CD Pipeline experience using concourse or relevant technologies
• Experience in Docker, Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, tableau and Jenkins
• Experience in working with web services like REST and SOAP.
• Familiarity with database management using MySql, ELK  , and Mongo DB
• Practical experience in developing complex test automation strategies, test scripts, and automation framework
