MRI Technologist - PRN

Position Overview: This is a PRN position and various shifts are available.

Pre-employment Requirements:

• We are a drug free facility. Passing a pre-employment drug screening is required.

Education Requirements: 

• Must have ARRT; ARRT (M) preferred.

Job Requirements:

• General knowledge of diagnostic MRI principles, procedures, views, and equipment, including some experience responding to traumas and various hospital emergencies.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Neat and professional appearance.
• Ability to perform complex tasks associated with the operation of high-field strength magnets and related equipment and produce radiographic images of specific body parts.
• Ability to analyze patient histories and complete screenings for pacemakers or other objects that may cause injuries during the exam.
• Accurately maintain patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS).
• Position requires a full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Ability to acquire IV access to patients needing contrasted studies.
  
  

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• Provide appropriate patient care and recognize conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.
• Maintain an orderly and clean work area promoting good safety habits for patients and co-workers.
• Assists in on-the-job training of new employees.
• Maintain patient confidentiality; comply with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice.
• Responsible for maintaining continued education as required for professional licensure.
• MRI technologists must be able to comply with government regulations to ensure the safety of the staff and patients as well as evaluate the scans for technical quality.
