Senior Community Health Social Worker (504758L9)

The Team:

The THS Community Health Social Work (CHSW) North team delivers evidence based social work services to regional and community-based clients, who are affected by psychosocial health issues. We are based at Community Health Centres and District Hospitals across Northern Tasmania, with a focus on assisting individuals to build capacity and resilience to self-manage and self-regulate their own health issues, as well as support sustainable community driven groups, programs and partnerships. 

The Role:

The successful applicant will be responsible for the provision of evidence-based and trauma-informed Social Work services with community clients and groups in the Launceston area, as well as provide outreach to inpatients and community clients in regional district sites two days per week. Travel to these sites is in working hours and a fleet vehicle will be provided. 

You will need:

Extensive experience in:

• Psychosocial assessment, multidisciplinary collaboration and care planning
• Therapeutic counselling and intervention
• Groupwork and/or program development aligned with Primary Health principles

Details of appointment:

Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working 68.4 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 24 April 2026.

Salary: $110,425 to $121,907 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

• Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Union Wages Agreement 2022.

• Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers
• Eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
• Overseas qualified Social Work candidates require a “certification of eligibility” letter from the AASW to confirm their eligibility for membership to the AASW. Or where regulatory requirements exist, NDIS Q&S Commission Provider Registration Requirements
