Job Description Summary
Provides operational and technical leadership for pharmacy automation solutions, including Omnicell Central Pharmacy Manager (CPM), OmniCenter Remote Access (OCRA), OC Web, Epic pharmacy applications, medication distribution technologies, and related clinical systems. Supervises assigned support personnel and coordinates with PharmIS analysts and third-party vendors (i.e., Baxter, Epic, Omnicell) while ensuring the effective implementation, optimization, maintenance, and support of pharmacy technology solutions to promote patient safety, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.Entity

Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Pharmacy Automation Systems Management
- Oversees the local administration, support, optimization, and maintenance of Epic pharmacy applications, medication inventory systems (i.e. Omnicell CPM), automated dispensing technologies (i.e., Omnicell MedCarousel, Omnicell XT cabinets), and related pharmacy technologies (i.e., Epic Willow, Baxter DoseEdge).
- Leads system upgrades, enhancements, testing, validation, implementation, and change management activities for pharmacy-related applications.
- Coordinates application build, configuration, workflow design, and optimization efforts to improve medication-use processes and operational efficiency.
- Ensures compliance with organizational standards, regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and applicable state and federal regulations.
Training and Customer Support
- Ensures staff are appropriately trained and demonstrate competency in supported systems and workflows.
- Coordinates and delivers end-user education, training programs, and support materials related to Omnicell CPM, Epic applications, and other pharmacy technologies.
- Facilitates solutions to operational issues and resolves care team members’ concerns regarding system functionality and workflows.
Downtime and Business Continuity
- Coordinates local resources and staffing to support planned and unplanned system downtimes, disaster recovery events, and emergency operations locally.
- Ensures downtime procedures, contingency plans, and recovery processes are maintained, tested, and communicated to stakeholders.
- Provides leadership during critical incidents affecting pharmacy automation systems and patient care operations.

Education: High School Degree or Equivalent
Work Experience: 3 years
Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the State of South Carolina Board of Pharmacy (SCBOP)is required and must be maintained. Must obtain and maintain Pharmacy Technician Certification (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT)) certification:
- Team members as of 11/1/2023: within 1 year of 11/1/2023.
- New Team members as of 11/1/2023: within 6 months of hire.
- New team members who are enrolled or will enroll in a pharmacy technician training program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and/or recognized by PTCB, have 30 days post program completion to obtain certification.
