Our Local Water Utilities team is currently seeking to appoint a casual Senior Water & Sewage Treatment Officer. This is a great opportunity to join a team of water and wastewater technical experts and strategic planners contributing to supporting local water utilities.
This is a key role which provides advice and support to local water utilities to promote best practice in the operation and maintenance of the water supply and sewerage systems.
The role will provide key support for delivery of technical water and sewage treatment training to local water utility operators and other staff. This includes preparation of training materials and face to face delivery of training in multiple locations across NSW, as part of a broader team of technical experts. The time commitment is flexible and estimated to be around 6 – 8 weeks per year, with rosters set in advance. The role will require travel to regional NSW locations for course delivery.
The role may also support the broader team of water and sewage treatment officers who provide technical support on operational problems and improvements, emergency response, drinking water management systems, trade waste, reuse and infrastructure proposals.
About You
You will be skilled in the operation of water and sewage treatment plants and experienced in the training of plant operators.
To be successful in this role, our ideal candidate will have:
- Knowledge and experience in the operation and maintenance of water supply and sewerage systems and treatment processes
- Knowledge of auditing methods, inspection and reporting of water and sewage treatment works
- Demonstrated experience in the design, delivery and assessment of technical training courses - Cert IV in Training & Assessment qualification would be highly regarded
- Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to maintain stakeholder relationships through strong collaboration, negotiation and resolution skills
- Ability to work away for week-long assignments to facilitate program delivery
- The willingness and ability to travel across NSW as needed
