The Job:

JDA is looking to add a WordPress specialized Junior Web Developer to our Digital Marketing team. The ideal candidate should be able to conceptualize, build, and maintain websites for a variety of clients. This individual should have exceptional web development skills that can extend development beyond PSD-to-HTML. The right candidate will be able to maximize and enhance original project scopes along with being able to create highly scalable web apps that thousands of users interact with daily. Our ideal Junior Web Developer will be passionate about the industry, aware of what’s new, what’s changing, and should continually look for ways to incorporate shifts in the industry into their next project. This person should be able to work efficiently both individually and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Create functional prototypes for clients to preview and provide feedback
• Deliver high performant, standards-compliant web applications
• Develop user-centric, functional, and visually appealing web applications
• Provide updates to existing client websites
• Troubleshoot and correct bugs that may exist in web applications
• Assist back-end developers in development and troubleshooting
• Maintain established brand requirements through web implementation
• Remain up-to-date on emerging technologies and best practices
• Execute OOP development techniques
• Know the technical trade-offs of various approaches, including budget/time estimates

Skills & Tools Used:

HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, WordPress, Web Accessibility (WCAG 2.0), SEO, Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, iOS, Android, Sublime Text, Git, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch

Requirements

• Understanding of WordPress theme development
• Understanding of semantic HTML5
• Understanding of CSS3 and SCSS
• Understanding of JavaScript and jQuery
• Understanding of cross-browser compatibility
• Understanding of high performant Responsive Web Design techniques
• Understanding of creating SEO friendly website
• Understanding of modern web design concepts, techniques and best practices

Additional Desired Skills:

• Knowledge of automated build tools like Grunt and Gulp
• Knowledge of PHP
• Knowledge of relationship based database technologies and concepts used by MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Knowledge of macOS
