As the Sr. Director of Field Finance for the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) and APJ (Asia Pacific and Japan) regions, you will play a crucial role in partnering with regional sales leaders to drive growth, formulate pivotal initiatives, and ensure effective financial planning and analysis. Your responsibilities as a member of the Elastic Sales Finance organization will encompass leading all financial functions for the sales teams in your regions including financial planning and analysis (FP&A) and coordinating the deal desk function. This position requires outstanding financial competence, critical thinking, and strong leadership skills, as well as experience with sophisticated deal structuring in a software/SaaS setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with regional sales leaders around strategy, objectives, challenges, and opportunities, provide insight and decision intelligence from a metrics and financial perspective
  • Act as a trusted advisor and strategic partner, actively participating in executive-level discussions and decision-making processes related to the regions.
  • Lead annual Sales financial planning process with support of regional finance leads
  • Develop and complete financial strategies and plans to support the growth objectives of the EMEA and APJ regions, aligning with the overall corporate strategy
  • Provide insights and recommendations on market trends, emerging opportunities, and potential risks, contributing to the development of regional business plans
  • Lead the Sales FP&A function for the EMEA and APJ regions, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial analysis, performance reports, and insights to regional leaders, enabling informed decision-making and resource allocation.
  • Implement financial models, metrics, and key performance indicators to be used by both Sales and Finance Executives to evaluate business performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ownership of the regional deal desk functions, overseeing the financial evaluation, structuring, and negotiation of sophisticated customer deals within the EMEA and APJ regions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Legal, and Operations, to assess deal viability, financial implications, and risk management, ensuring alignment with corporate policies and financial objectives
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, working closely with regional and global stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on relevant industry and market trends, maintaining a thorough understanding of the competitive landscape.
  • Lead a growing team of FP&A and Deal Desk professionals in both the EMEA and APJ regions!

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Proven experience leading a sales finance team, preferably within a multinational organization operating in the EMEA and APJ regions
  • Solid understanding of regional financial regulations, accounting principles, and compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in driving growth strategies, formulating business plans, and driving critical initiatives
  • Extensive experience in financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to form effective relationships and influence collaborators at all levels
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic approach
  • Strong negotiation and deal structuring skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage several priorities
