Pharmacy Services Contract Analyst

Job Description:

Assembles, extrapolates, and analyzes pharmaceutical usage data in order to calculate rebates for payments from pharmaceutical companies and maintains rebate accounts payable, handles billing payment and reconciliation. Performs utilization analysis in addition to contract analysis and comparisons, financial reports, and cost saving studies.

Job Essentials

Analyzes pharmacy contracts for financial impact. Performs summary and detailed utilization analysis.
Uses available database resources to query prescription claims information for routine or ad hoc report generation.
Analyzes clinical and financial impact of pharmaceutical therapies. Assembles, extrapolates, and analyzes pharmaceutical usage data in order to calculate rebates for payment from pharmaceutical companies. Resolves discrepancies in rebate billing and payments with pharmaceutical companies.
Reconciles and tracks payments for accuracy and appropriate distribution. Corresponds with pharmaceutical companies on contracting issues.
Updates new products and formulary status of current products in system as needed.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree. Education must be obtained from an accredited university. Degree will be verified.

Four years of experience in medical/pharmacy claims processing or benefit coordination within a managed care environment.
- and -
Two years additional experience in a managed care setting, as a customer service representative, as a licensed pharmacy technician, or coordinating pharmacy and/or medical benefits.
- and -
Computer experience including report generation, word processing, spreadsheet applications, and database management.

Preferred Qualifications

Analytical and mathematical skills to include good understanding of algebraic functions and metric systems.

Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent time, project and workload management abilities.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. 

$28.90 - $43.99
