About the role
Summary
The Lab Technician will assist with ongoing research on Alzheimer's disease. The technician will help with managing the mouse models we use to study the disease, with identifying specific genes harbored by those animals, and with analyzing the outcomes of our breeding or intervention experiments.
Job Duties
- Performs the duties under supervision from technicians in the laboratory.
- Conducts weekly PCR genotyping reactions on mouse tissue biopsies.
- Performs mouse euthanasia and brain dissection.
- Conducts tissue processing, sectioning, histological staining, and microscopic imaging.
- Keeps record for all work conducted.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- One year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior laboratory experience that includes mouse handling, euthanasia, dissection.
- Experience with PCR genotyping.
