About Construction Management - AECOM Tishman
Since 1898, AECOM Tishman has managed the construction of some of the world’s most iconic buildings. We employ a diversified preconstruction and construction management staff of structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineers; architects; technology specialists; scheduling and cost control personnel; and construction estimators and accountants. We provide expert consultation and guidance in all phases of a building project, from master-planning, preconstruction options evaluation and decision-making, to design review, estimating, and scheduling, through procurement, construction and occupancy. Job Description
AECOM Tishman is seeking a Mechanical/Electrical Assistant Project Manager to support our exciting technology client. This position will provide APM support across multiple sites in the 5 boroughs of New York City.
Job Description:
- Under moderate supervision assists the Project Management team with management administration on a moderate size and scope project, or a portion of a large size and scope project, following set guidelines for completion of tasks.
- Employee receives moderate to limited supervision working from objectives set by supervisor. Employee organizes and carries out most assignments in accordance with standard practices, instructions, or previous training. Employee handles some unusual situations independently.
- May interact with Superintendents to address project questions/issues.
- Assists with and monitors change orders
- May assist with regulatory compliance and financial reporting.
- Review project costs and scheduling to ensure completion of project within budget and in conformance with contract.
- Work with document control systems, project management systems and other software or databases to keep information flow up-to-date and accurate.
- Attend meetings and report on project tasks as needed.
- May provide technical direction and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
BS Engineering or related curriculum and 2 years of relevant experience in relevant construction experience or A/AS (US) + 4 years of relevant experience or HS/GED + 6 years of relevant experience.
Ability to travel to various project sites across the 5 Boroughs of New York.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Desire to work and learn in an MEP construction environment (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing).
- 2-4 years of experience in interiors mechanical/electrical construction, renovation and retrofitting in commercial construction.
- Mechanical experience and MEP highly preferred.
- Prior experience in submittals, meeting minutes, project scope and scheduling.
- Ability to interact with many tiers of management on an active construction site.
- Ability to work independently.
- Experience working in critical environments.
- Ability to travel to various sites across the 5 Boroughs of New York.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Ability to travel to various project sites across the 5 Boroughs of New York. Travel may be a combination of public transportation and use of personal vehicle. Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.
