Job Description

The Maintenance Group Leader has the primary responsibility for the preventive and corrective maintenance for all the existing equipment and assembly lines in the plant with the goal to improve machinery uptime, ensure safety, functional and efficient equipment and machinery for the proper operation of equipment as well as the safety and efficiency for the maintenance activities.

The Maintenance Group Leader supervises personnel, including performance and salary reviews, and administers Company policy. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned)

• Ensure completion of all support tasks for equipment maintenance (i.e., spare parts ordered, drawings available, PM tasks in SAP, software back up’s, etc.).
• Support development of applicable preventative/predictive maintenance tasks.
• Support implementation/utilization of advanced planning and scheduling systems.
• Plan and monitor equipment uptime and OEE improvement initiatives.  Prioritize technical workload, evaluations and improvements using key data.
• Provide leadership for the Maintenance Technicians and ensure the team has necessary resources and skills to accomplish their tasks.
• Set direction and provide technical support to the Manufacturing Teams for continuous improvement process (equipment and maintenance improvement processes).
• Conduct individual and team coaching sessions as needed to improve team performance.  Recognize team accomplishments.
• Ensure adherence to Plant Maintenance System and new equipment Standards.
• Drive organization towards TPM.
• Assist in new equipment specification and startup by ensuring the GDS / MAP is used.
• Support product teams, CIP activities, and Policy deployment objectives.
• Complete Technician Performance Reviews and Development Plans.
• Ensure accurate machine history records (downtime, prints, etc.) are well maintained.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Associate's Degree in a technical field (Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering desirable)

EXPERIENCE:

5 years’ overall experience in technical field or 3 years previous experience as an Equipment Coordinator. 

Experience may include the following:

• Analytical problem-solving techniques, desirable Shainin, Six Sigma or similar tools.
• Proficient use of CMMS system (SAP).
• Experience in bringing in new equipment.
• Understands and is familiar with the use of RCM, TPM and the Bosch GDS.
• Must possess good team and conflict resolution skills.
• Must be able to function in a support role for CIP and TOP teams within the plant.
• Must be able to work independently and make needed decisions with little direct supervision.
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks and set priorities accordingly.
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills, strong leadership attributes.
