We are looking for a motivated intern to join one of our software development teams to help us build a revolutionary, cost effective, and clean global transportation system to fulfill our mission of saving a billion people an hour a day. It will be an in-person, hybrid internship based in Santa Cruz, CA.
Responsibilities
During this internship, you will be embedded within a small team of development engineers and designers who will contribute directly to designing, coding, testing, and building on and off aircraft applications used by engineers and other teams across the company.
The ideal candidate is energetic, has a positive attitude, is flexible and excited about learning. Expect an internship that is similar to a job you would have when you graduate. The range of experiences will be wide, and you will not be bored. The level of responsibilities will depend on your independence and your ability to complete tasks on the specific team you will be joining.
As a Sensors SW Intern, you will be involved with:
- The development of the embedded system architecture
- The development of algorithms to fuse sensor data and monitor sensor health
- Write software for the flight sensors system
- Test algorithms and software
Required
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, UX Design, or related field, graduating between December 2024 and August 2025.
- Ability to identify challenging problems and potential solutions with guidance from a mentor, and work toward them with a high degree of independence.
- Experience/Comfort with application and/or object-oriented technologies such as C++, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Python, SQL, Docker, AWS
- Coding, debugging and trouble-shooting skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to learn!
Desired
- Strong examples of previous engineering and design experience from past internships and/or extracurricular projects.
- Experience working on cross-disciplinary projects involving software development for a hardware system.
- Ability to learn quickly and multi-task in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
- Passionate about aviation and/or robotics.

The target compensation for these positions is $25.00-$33.25 depending on the level of completed education. The pay range for graduate interns with a Bachelor, Master, and/or Ph.D. degree is $5,880-$8,200/month
