What you'll do

• Build and co-own the core, user-facing product. You'll build the product and everything behind the scenes from the ground up, including talking to prospects and customers when needed to quickly gather feedback & iterate on new features. You will be involved in shaping the product roadmap and owning the execution of it.
• Use modern web tech and influence the stack. We develop React on the frontend, Node & Express & GraphQL on the backend, and TypeScript across the stack which lives wholly inside a monorepo.
• Ship robust and scalable full-stack features. You’ll be able to leverage our core UI component libraries and existing infrastructure to quickly ship new features end-to-end. Along the way, you’ll be responsible for architecting the right data models, optimize database queries, and build performant GraphQL APIs.
• Solve interesting technical problems that are also impactful. The field of Privacy and AI Governance presents interesting and impactful challenges to overcome. We hope that you are excited to help solve them!

• You have around 10 or more years of experience in software development.
• You know how to ship production-ready code and develop rapid prototypes. You should know what tests to write, what to log, what metrics to capture, what alerts to set up.
• You're effective at tackling large, open-ended problems. We're a small team, and not every problem will have a fully spec-ed out solution for you to implement. Spec-gathering, writing design docs, validating potential solutions with teammates, and decomposing work are all part of the job.
• You’re able to identify trade-offs and take them into consideration when making decisions (e.g, speediness vs tech debt vs cutting scope). You can articulate which factors have higher priority depending on the context.
• You are effective at async and online methods of communication. Our team is entirely distributed, so the ability to clearly and thoughtfully communicate despite the space and time barriers is very important.
• You are a curious and quick learner. We don't expect you to have experience in every technology we use, but to learn and be productive quickly. Owning several projects and jumping into all of them doesn't scare you.
• Pragmatic and business-oriented: You care about business impact and prioritize projects accordingly. You're not just going after cool stuff—you understand the balance between craft, speed, and the bottom line.
