The Senior Channel Manager is responsible for driving sales, leading a motivated team and executing our channel partner strategy. This leader would be managing and optimizing the partnership and distribution strategy within the North America Region. This role supports implementation of tactics to drive growth, ensuring effective marketing activities, training for the channel partners and monitoring distributor performance to achieve revenue and margin goals. Responsibility spans Leica’s Industrial/Applied and OEM business and includes Channel Partner part of Life Science Research business.

This position reports to the Director of Applied, Sample Prep and Channel Management for North America as part of the Commercial team and will be fully remote.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop and execute North American go-to-market (GTM) strategy to position dealer and agent resources appropriately to win share, including key performance indicator (KPI) deployment, tracking and review on a monthly and quarterly basis. This includes working with appropriate teams to drive contractual changes needed to reflect our GTM.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and training to and in collaboration with Channel Partners, including regular engagement with KOLs across businesses and industries.
  • Accurately forecast business performance for Channel Partners on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis through Salesforce.com (CRM). Grow sales funnel to support achievement of orders and sales goals by maintaining raw and adjusted funnel metrics.
  • Effectively gather Voice of Customer (VOC), assess win/loss reports and translate learnings back to the business to guide segment targeting strategies, GTM and new product development.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Minimum of 5 years of Sales leadership / Commercial experience with a record of growing the top and bottom line. Microscopy or capital equipment sales is preferred.
  • Experience working with channel partners (dealers, distributors, agents), including demonstrated capability in the leadership, selection, development, training, and management of sales professionals and channel partners.
  • A demonstrated capacity for strategic planning as well as tactical implementation.
  • Examples of successfully designed and executed plans within cross-functional teams (marketing, technical support, service, customer service, product development, finance, etc.) and related directly to commercial growth.
  • A four-year degree or equivalent work experience is required, MBA preferred.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to travel – Up to 50% travel, overnight, within territory or locations
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
