Job Summary

NetApp is looking for a thought leader and change agent who wants to work with a team of experienced yet forward-thinking technologists in building the most powerful data storage systems on the planet. We are looking for a passionate and results-oriented Engineering Program Manager to drive ONTAP products to market while improving the process by which we do so. The role requires an individual with outstanding leadership, project management, and technological abilities.
This role will be responsible for the full life cycle of storage products from launch to scale and sustaining stages. Success means building repeatable playbooks and tools which will level-up the state of the art with which engineering is managed. Manual labor and data-starved decisions are the enemy, while technology, broad datasets, and intelligence the arsenal to defeat them. Collaboration is required from start to finish, partnering closely with engineering, product management, and many other cross-functional teams to confidently produce high quality, higher velocity, and even more successful product launches.

Job Requirements

• Improve processes and drive program efficiencies within and outside the organization
• Drive product delivery and track all program milestones, directly and by empowering others to effortlessly communicate status, build schedules, identify and resolve program issues around the product launch
• Drive decision checkpoints, effectively lead product team reviews
• Identify risks/assumptions/issues throughout the product lifecycle and communicate to assist in resolution to maintain the committed scope, schedule, quality, and integrity
• Detail-oriented but with the ability to look at the overall big picture of multiple product releases
• Drive innovation and integration of product life cycle processes and quality initiatives into projects and solutions
• Ability to bridge concept to solution individually by driving collaboration within the cross-functional team members to develop a fully integrated delivery schedule
• Provide effortless and infinite transparency on the progress of offerings through the product lifecycle process
• Lead and remove labor from cross-functional management system to manage phase gates & ensure teams’ adherence to PLC process
• Design & implement effective management systems to drive efficiency within a given process
• Drive strategic solutions and projects to enhance NetApp's offerings
• Manage and prioritize multiple deadlines and expedite communications

• 10+ years’ experience as a Program Manager in engineering teams
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with highly technical engineering teams, with a history of leading the team in delivering against product requirements
• Proven record to lead multi-functional teams through influence versus direct management
• Demonstrates a strong bias to action; not afraid to tackle unknowns
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
• Experience managing projects across a geographically dispersed team
