The Department of Public Health Sciences (DPHS) invites applicants for a faculty cluster hire of four tenure-track assistant professor positions to begin August 2024. Faculty hired through this cluster will join a dynamic group of more than 25 full time departmental faculty who are dedicated to a team science approach and collaboration with other Clemson University researchers, clinician researchers in the PRISMA Health System (Greenville and Columbia SC), MUSC health system, Clemson Rural Health, and the new DPHS Center for Public Health Modeling, Preparedness and Response.

DPHS is one of the fastest growing departments at Clemson University with a new Master of Public Health (MPH) degree. Within DPHS our faculty disciplines include epidemiology, biostatistics, health informatics, community health promotion and behavior, and health systems and policy. Faculty led research projects are funded by National Institutes of Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, US Department of Defense US, Department of Agriculture, and World Health Organization, as well as international, national, state, and local foundations. This cluster of newly hired faculty will contribute to strengthening and leading initiatives to improve population health, reduce health disparities, and increase efficiency of healthcare delivery.

For these positions, we are particularly interested in faculty with the following content and research skill expertise.

Content Expertise: Rural Health, Global Health, Healthcare Systems and Quality Improvement, Health informatics, Health Technology, Health Behavior Intervention and Evaluation, Population Health, and One Health

Research Skill Expertise: Clinical Trials; Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Qualitative and Mixed Methods, Dissemination and Implementation Science, Participatory and Translational Research

Candidates must have a strong interest in building a funded research portfolio, working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, and obtaining research grants. We seek an inspired group of faculty members who will shape the next generation of innovation in health research. The department of PHS resides within the College of Behavioral, Social and Health Sciences (CBSHS) that joins together a unique combination of schools and departments: Communication; Nursing; Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management; Political Science; Psychology; Public Health Sciences; and Sociology, Anthropology and Criminal Justice.
