Raytheon is seeking an engineering professional to work with a variety of programs as a contributor to detailed design, simulation, product development, and initial product testing.
The Effectors Subsystems Products (ESP) Department is currently searching for a Electrical/Mechanical Engineer Section Leader who has experience designing RF and Microwave products. This role includes design and test activities that span preliminary design to integration. Products we develop support radar and datalink applications on a variety of tactical missile programs. Critical to this role will be designing for challenging electrical or mechanical constraints and extreme environments. Responsibilities will be split between supporting RF program(s) as an engineer (~85%) and providing functional support to the section “RF” (~15%). This position is located in Huntsville, AL.
What You Will Do
Section Leader Responsibilities:
As a Section Leader, your responsibilities include working closely with the ESP Department Leader and other Section Leaders to align the department with company direction. Section Leaders are trustworthy and accountable, willing and able to coach and mentor section members and hold critical conversations.
Support hiring (resume reviews, interviews, etc.)
Support and/or drive department initiatives and goals
Promote collaboration across functional and program boundaries
Balancing staffing needs and align with section member growth
Modeling and driving Raytheon values and behaviors
Support section member performance, career development, and growth
Elicit and compile performance feedback to support Performance Development
Hold required formal Mid-Year and Year-End Performance Development (PD) discussions where compiled feedback, key strengths and development needs are conveyed
Engineering Responsibilities:
Design and development of RF Systems including some of the following: transmitters, receivers, exciters, antennas, RF Enclosures, RF Hoods, RF radomes, RF fixtures, RF channelization, RF tolerancing, Technical Data Packages
Experience designing, building and optimizing RF circuits- such as chains of components (receiver, exciter, etc.), hoods, radomes, RF packages, or individual parts (filters, limiters, couplers, etc.).
Working in a lab to accomplish component characterization as well as module verification and integration
Testing and handling sensitive RF Hardware
Design, Test, Fixturing of circuit card assemblies (CCAs) with RF or mixed signals
Working with interdisciplinary teams- power, digital, mechanical, etc.
Schematic capture, RF Tolerancing and RF routing
Qualifications You Must Have
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
A minimum of ten (10) years of experience to include at least 2 of the following:
Experience performing design and analysis for the packaging of RF products (e.g. Circuit Card Assemblies, antennas, radomes, RF test equipment, or harnesses and interconnects) throughout the product life cycle to include three dimensional (3D) Computer Aided Design (CAD) software
Creation of Technical Data Packages (TDPs) using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) for RF products
Experience in monolithic ceramic process development
Development of high speed radome design including radome, tip, and mounting to airframe
The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer
Master of Science (MS) in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
Technical oversight responsibilities for less-senior engineers
