One Half-Time Cook - Itinerant

One Half-Time Cook - Itinerant (Current Assignment: Mullens Elementary and Middle School and East Side of County, as needed)

Duties and Responsibilities:  

1. Maintain standards of work and conduct as determined by the Director of Child Nutrition and General Wellness.
2. Preparation of all types of food acording to State and Federal guidelines
3. Wash dishes, sweep and mop kitchen area, as needed
4. Cleans all equipment used
5. Serve food to students and staff
6. Aid in taking inventory of food and supplies and restocks storage areas as food and supplies are received
7. Home base will be Mullens Elementary and Middle School.  In the event of a substitute not being found at another school on the east side of the County, cook may be dispatched to work at that school, as needed.  This will be dependent upon the number of cooks working in the school that was unable to find a substitute and the current staff at Mullens Elementary and Middle School.  Director of Child Nutrition will dispatch, as needed and at her discretion, based on daily needs.
8. Performs other related tasks as assigned by supervisors

Qualifications:

1. A valid Wyoming County Foodhandlers Permit
2. Proficient in all areas of cooking and food preparation with a background in institutional or commercial cooking preferred
3. Should be able to read recipes and make necessary calculations for ingredient measurements
4. Should have a functional working skill in the operation of all types of school kitchen equipment
5. Must pass WVDE cook competency test

Employment Term:  200 days
