Job Description

Primary Objectives:  

• Support the MTS Materials Testing Business by providing biomedical testing knowledge and expertise to our worldwide customer base.  
• Provide pre-sales technical support and leadership to both our customers and sales teams. 
• Lead the translation of customer requirements into a proposed technical solution. 

Major Areas of Accountability:

• Provide technical assistance directly to our customers and salespeople.
• Establish technical credibility with the prospective customer.
• Understand the prospect’s technical needs and develop the appropriate MTS testing solution.
• Conduct testing demonstrations to help the prospective customer understand the solution. 
• Plan and conduct effective customer presentations. 
• Participate in professional societies and society committees to stay informed of latest testing trends to build MTS industry knowledge and to influence testing standards, as applicable.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• 4-year degree in Engineering or Materials Science.
• 2+ years of progressively demanding technical experience.
• Ability to travel 5%-20% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
• Business acumen and technical expertise.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have One or More of the Following Characteristics:

• Two or more years of work experience in the biomedical field and/or a testing laboratory specialized in medical device or biomaterials testing.
• Familiarity with orthopedic testing methods for biological joints.
• Knowledge of biomaterials and related ASTM and ISO testing standards.
• Current or previous MTS work experience

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience working with a wide range of customers.
• Ability to develop and propose concepts and test methodologies.
• Ability to manage assigned customer opportunities, develop appropriate product solutions, and lead a technical pursuit team through solution creation.

This position has a salary range of $71,000-$105,000 based on education and experience.
