Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking an Experienced Quality Product Acceptance Specialist to join the Quality Assurance group located in Sylmar, CA.
As a member of the Quality Organization at Spectrolab, you will be working with a dedicated team of quality professionals that take pride in their work and in supporting efforts to ensure our world class aerospace products conform to the high standards that we expect of ourselves and our customers expect of us as well.
The primary duties of this position will require an experienced quality inspector to inspect solar cells and solar panels for aerospace and complete critical related paperwork.
This position is for 2nd shift, but will require training on 1st shift. Overtime will be required per the business need.
Position Responsibilities:
- Inspects solar cells, solar panels, searchlights and searchlight components for conformance to requirements
- Performs auditing, surveillance and monitoring of products and processes and provides customer feedback
- Applies standard inspection techniques for product verification including use of various inspection tools, microscope, eye loop, etc. and provides objective evidence of results
- Conducts product review with customer during product or process verification
- Prepares Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP) books for Product Acceptance
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 3+ years of Quality experience
- 3+ years of experience with precision measuring tools (including calipers, height and depth gauges, micrometers, microscopes, and eye loops)
- Experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications
- Ability to work overtime
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience with AS9100 and/or a similar Quality Management System (QMS) standard
- Experience with SAP software
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).
Relocation:
Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
Travel:
This position may require travel up to 10% of the time.

Summary pay range: USD $56,950 – 77,050
