Responsibilities

You will provide data analytics for integrated project reporting and analysis to support our client’s programs charged with planning, acquiring, and managing the operation of technology and capabilities to keep our borders safe and facilitate travel and trade. Representative responsibilities:

  • Assist with workflow compilation and future state of Data Governance internal and external to SPAD.
  • Work closely with the architect and/or the engineer. The SA would serve as a support function for improved data quality, by gathering information, analyzing, and communicating.
  • Responsible for bridging the gap between IT and the SPAD using data analytics to assess processes, determine requirements and deliver data-driven recommendations and reports.
  • Systems Analyst should be proficient with data, relevant coding, and programming languages such as Python.
  • Systems Analyst should be familiar with and actively use Project Management standards as defined by the Project Management Institute to create new projects and manage to completion.
  • Access and manipulate data from multiple systems and platforms
  • Identify interrelations and connect data and information across with modern techniques.
  • Support the transformation of business process through automation.
  • Understand business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and recommend solutions that enable achievement of reporting goals.

Qualifications

  • Ability to pass a government background investigation, including financial, criminal, residential, educational, foreign affiliation, prohibited substance abuse, and employment verifications; active U.S. Customs and Border Protection background investigation preferred. Please note that only U.S. citizens are eligible for a suitability determination.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in computer science, engineering, data science, operations research, industrial engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline preferred.
  • 3-5+ years of related experience required.
  • Self-starter with the vision to independently identify opportunities for improvement through data analytics.
  • Expertise in building and cleaning databases from multiple data sources, combining cost and performance information.
  • Experience with developing queries for routine data requests and reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, ServiceNow, and SharePoint.
  • A true team player who maintains a positive attitude in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong cross-cultural communication, collaboration, and organizational skills with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
