In this exciting Manufacturing Engineering role, you will be part of the dedicated, experienced, and high-performing team supporting Rechargeable, Pacing and Diagnostic (RPD) batteries at the Medtronic Energy and Component Center (MECC) in Brooklyn Center, MN. At this facility, we design, develop, and manufacture components used in Medtronic medical devices. In this role you will gain experience with advanced manufacturing processes and equipment, supporting the manufacturing of batteries for medical devices such as pacemakers, neurostimulators, and deep-brain stimulators. You will be a key member of the operations team, ensuring optimal equipment performance to support daily production as well as driving improvements to support manufacturing stability.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.

  • Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.

  • Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.

  • Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.

  • May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.

  • Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.

  • Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.

  • Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

  • Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 2 years of relevant experience, OR an advanced degree with 0 years of experience

Nice to Have

  • DMAIC problem solving

  • Welding experience – resistance spot welding and/or laser welding

  • Medical device or regulated industry experience

  • Experience managing quality management system documentation

  • Experience with automation, vision, and PLCs

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$81,600.00 - $122,400.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable
