Salary Range: $125,000-$135,000
JOB TITLE: Regional Construction Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) - Manager

SUMMARY:
As the Regional Construction Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO), you will be responsible for overseeing and enforcing safety and health policies and procedures at construction sites in the CONS-West region. Working closely with project teams and subcontractors, you will ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety across all construction activities. Your leadership and expertise will contribute to the successful completion of projects with an unwavering commitment to the well-being of all personnel.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement site-specific safety and health plans (SSHP) for construction projects in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards, unsafe practices, and non-compliance with safety regulations.
- Provide safety training and orientation to all personnel working on construction sites, including subcontractors and visitors.
- Enforce safety rules and regulations, and take corrective action as necessary to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for preventive measures.
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to develop and implement corrective actions and safety improvement initiatives.
- Review and approve subcontractors' safety plans and procedures to ensure alignment with project requirements and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, incidents, and other safety-related activities.
- Monitor project activities to ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with safety protocols.
- Stay informed about changes in safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices, and communicate updates to project teams.
- Participate in pre-construction meetings, project planning sessions, and safety committees to provide input on safety matters.
- Conduct safety meetings and toolbox talks to address specific hazards, safety concerns, and preventive measures.
Daily Duties:
- Conduct daily safety inspections of the construction site to identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and non-compliance with safety regulations.
